Small Repairs Before They Grow
A shingle that blew loose in a spring gust, a cracked vent collar or a stain on the ceiling are all worth chasing early. Many of these are a repair, not a new roof. We trace where the water is getting in and fix that.
Off I-35 and Loop 1604, a roofer who tells you what your Live Oak house actually needs, and what it does not.
Good roofing Live Oak homeowners can rely on begins with an honest read of the roof over their heads. Live Oak is a small incorporated city in Bexar County where Interstate 35 meets Loop 1604, and most of its houses went up in subdivisions during the 1970s and 1980s. By now a lot of those homes are on their second or third roof, and some are due for another.
Because the neighborhoods were built in batches, a street tends to age all at once. If two or three houses on your block have had new roofs in the last year, yours was likely put on around the same time as theirs and has seen the same weather.
Richard Puigdomenech owns PCG Roofing and has spent a little over 20 years in construction. Ring (210) 598-8556 to set up a free inspection, and you will be talking with him directly.

Once a roof from a past reroof has gone brittle across every slope, another patch only buys a few months. We strip it, check the decking that has been up there for decades, and install new shingles. Customers note the job goes quickly and the property is left tidy.
More Live Oak rooftops carry solar arrays than a few years ago, and the shingles under them age like the rest. If the roof needs work, we remove the panels, handle the roofing, and reinstall them, so one company covers both.
Sun and rain work on painted trim the same way they work on shingles. When the fascia boards or siding are peeling, we can repaint the outside of the house along with or apart from the roof.
Live Oak was incorporated in 1960, and the bulk of its housing filled in over the following decades between the interstate and the neighboring towns of Universal City and Selma. Brick fronts, composition shingle roofs and attached garages are the usual pattern. The shopping and offices along the I-35 frontage sit on the edge of these neighborhoods rather than inside them.
One thing worth knowing: Live Oak the city, in Bexar County, has nothing to do with Live Oak County, which is far south of here. When you talk to an insurer, a supplier or a permit office, give your full address so nobody mixes the two up.
Asphalt shingles dry out slowly in Texas heat. After enough summers the oils that keep them flexible bake off, and the shingle starts to crack along its edges or lose its grit. Water usually gets under a roof like that at the weakest point first: a valley, a vent, or the spot where the roof meets a wall.
From the driveway, look for dark patches where the grit is gone, shingle edges that curl up, and nails backing out along the ridge. Inside, check the ceiling in closets and the garage, where a slow leak often shows up first because nobody looks there.
Ridge vents and attic airflow matter here too. An attic that cannot breathe cooks the underside of the roof, which shortens its life. If poor airflow looks like part of the problem on your house, we will point it out.
On September 11, 2026, hail up to golf ball size fell on Converse and nearby parts of east San Antonio. Live Oak is a short drive from there, beside Universal City. That does not mean your roof was hit, but if you are unsure, a free look will settle it.
If damage does turn up and you are thinking about insurance, whether to file is your call. The claim is between you and your insurer. We can explain how the process generally runs, from the first call to the final payment.
It depends on your policy and on what caused the leak, and the adjuster your insurance company sends makes that call. Storm damage and plain wear are often treated differently. Your agent can tell you what your policy says.
Yes. We take the panels off, do the roof work, and put them back, so you are not coordinating two companies.
Age, how many slopes are worn, and the condition of the decking all factor in. A free inspection tells you which one your house needs, and if a repair will do, we say so.
The word means different things to different companies, so ask any roofer to spell it out. With us you get a written scope in plain English that lists the exact work before you sign.
The storm we know of hit Converse and east San Antonio, a short drive away. Hail lands in uneven bands, so the only way to know about your own roof is to look at it, and that costs nothing.
No. Live Oak is an incorporated city in Bexar County at Interstate 35 and Loop 1604, northeast of San Antonio. Live Oak County is a separate county well to the south.

My wife and I were new home owners at the time and very afraid of being burned by the insurance company and any roofers we selected. Puigdomenech came recommended to me by my neighbor, and I am thankful they were. Naturally, my wife and I very wary of any potential scammers, but at the same time we were ignorant of the process. Richard, with Puigdomenech, was very patient in explaining the process we could expect when submitting a claim to have the roof repaired. As further assurance, everything was laid out in hand written contracts, in plain English without all that "Legal-ese." The actual roof work was done quickly and looks fantastic. In the years we have had the roof I have not seen a single issue. Unfortunately for Puigdomenech, our insurance company was less than kind and sent these roofers on a years long ordeal in an attempt to obtain final payment. Puigdomenech did not wish to involve my wife and I for fear of stressing out the new home owners, and we thank them for that. But I am pleased to say we were able to obtain final payment (and no longer support that insurance company). Long story short, we highly recommend Puigdomenech Contracting. They are clearly a reputation and reliability first company. I would definitely recommend them for any contracting needs.
Have used Puigdomenech twice and have Found them to be very professiona and pleasant l from Initial telephone call to work carried out. Arrived on time friendly and hardworking. Left everything clean and tidy. Even replaced a couple of missing tiles. Will be using them for my properties in San Antonio also.
