One Company for the Roof and Everything Around It

PCG Roofing is owned and run by Richard Puigdomenech, who has been in the construction business for a little over 20 years. Shingle roofs are the core of the work: replacing them, repairing them, and inspecting them after hail. Around that sit the jobs that come up on the same house at the same time: solar panels that have to come off for the roof, and siding and paint the same storm hit.

There are two kinds of roof job, and which one you have depends on what happened to the roof. After a storm, you may decide to file a claim. Whether you file is up to you. We explain each step of a claim before it happens, and our insurance claims page lays out how one runs in Texas. When a roof is simply old, you pay for the work directly and get a written quote to compare.

Where you live shapes which of those is more likely. On September 11, 2026, hail up to 1.75 inches hit east San Antonio, including Converse, Kirby, China Grove and St. Hedwig, and many roofs there need a close look. In Laredo, where hail hit the northwest side on September 4 and 5, 2026, roofs are still more often replaced because the South Texas sun has worn them out. San Antonio sees both.

Choosing

Repair, Replace, or Check for Hail First?

Most roof questions come down to one of these four answers.

Repair it

The problem is in one place and the rest of the roof is sound: a single leak, a cracked pipe boot, a few lifted shingles or missing tiles. A roof repair fixes that spot and leaves the good roof in place.

Replace it

The shingles are brittle, curling or bare of granules on several slopes, or you are on your third leak in a couple of years. Each repair buys less time, and a roof replacement is usually the better use of the money.

Check for hail first

If the trouble started after a storm, the damage is often spread across the whole roof. An inspection tells you whether there is hail or storm damage before you pay for a repair.

Leave it for now

Sometimes the honest answer is that the roof is fine. The inspection is free, and if nothing needs doing, that is what we will tell you.
